our story

An elite chef and a food and beverage event director met at a party…fifteen years and three kids later, our passion for food and family led us to create homskool. When our youngest began preschool, we were approached to cater several upscale school events. After serving hundreds of happy kids, parents, and faculty, we were asked to take over as the school’s lunch provider and hōmskool was born. We witnessed previously picky eaters begin exploring new textures and flavors, and before long all the kids were enjoying sophisticated, nutritious meals designed for sustained energy and focus at school. Our long term goal is to reshape how America thinks about school lunch, starting in LA, one school at a time.

   create curious eaters

the vision

Food is integral to children’s development both physically and social-emotionally. Beyond nutrition and flavor, we focus on sensory qualities such as aroma, color, and texture. But possibly the most exciting thing we bring to the table is cultural diversity, allowing young eaters to connect with flavors and traditions from all around the world.

create awareness

Through a sustainable lunch program that amplifies the importance of ethical eating and the positive environmental impact it has on our world.

food for thought

Curated diverse menus, meant to inspire young eaters to explore new ingredients, flavors, spices, and textures. Fun food doesn’t need to come at the expense of our health, at hōmskool we offer kids balanced lunches for sustained energy and focus at school.

the goal

Pilar Guzmán, editor in chief of Condé Nast Traveler said, “It’s a badge of urban sophisticated honor to have your kid be an adventurous eater.”

We are committed to sustainable gastronomy with a focus on ethical and environmental standards. We strive to build unique, seasonal lunch programs where we work directly with local growers, reduce waste, and create approachable,
chef driven menus to inspire young eaters to explore the culinary arts.
